A Mouth in the Fog.

The mountains don’t care if you’re passing through or staying forever. They lean in close, full of redwood silence, radio static, and the kind of fog that makes shapes out of nothing. You drive the switchbacks and feel watched, but not in a threatening way. More like we are inventory that is being counted.
